The Government of Maduro resorts to an iron repressor to subdue the opposition
The head of the political police of Venezuela, Gustavo González López, knows how to master the opposing adventures, for what happened to be called after the frustrated coup of April 30.

He is a hawk and his pulse does not tremble when he tempers the spirits of opponents. He replaces Manuel Cristopher Figuera, now a refugee in Colombia, he remained at the head of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) until the day of the failed coup on April 30, which he himself endorsed and led by Juan Guaidó. Then, Maduro decided to return the trust to an iron fist, a person of confidence of the Bolivarian Government who has no scruple when it comes to arresting politicians and military opponents.
He served as interior minister of Venezuela for a year, combining this position with that of Sebin's boss from 2014 until October 2018, when Nicolás Maduro dismissed him due to a couple of incidents reported below. On April 30, the president named him again as head of the Sebin, Chávez's political police, which in recent years has calmed down with the illegitimate imprisonment and torture of many opponents. His name is Gustavo González López (Carrizal, 1964), a general division loyal to the regime's number two, Diosdado Cabello. The latter never lent itself to rise against the Executive headed by Maduro and did not collaborate with the failed 30A uprising.
